Automobiles in German Town Discovered Smeared with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Officers reported they were contacted by a individual who noticed a car in Hanau covered with red-colored substance

Approximately fifty cars have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Cars, exterior walls and mailboxes were defaced, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they stated in a official communication.

Law enforcement report they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a resident observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued fluid.

The fluid had been applied in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Officers then found numerous other smeared vehicles and residential walls in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Police report initial examinations suggest the substance was probably human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no indication as to its source; investigators are presently not cognizant of any injuries in relation with the occurrence," they stated.

City officials said they were trying "to solve the case" and have requested to the public for details.

A senior official said the incident rendered him speechless and required to be solved promptly.

"This act hits the very heart of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the far-right terrorist attack half a decade ago," he wrote on social media, mentioning the killing of nine people by a gunman focusing on residents of foreign heritage in five years prior.
