Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to police.
A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
These detentions follow a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.
Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Police were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.
The assault - which police said was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
